The Old and New Testaments are the two of the Bible's seven portions. Although the texts in the Jewish Scriptures are same, they are organized differently and consist of only 24 books as opposed to the 39 in the Old Testament. This disparity results from the fact that some books that Christians consider as distinct works are combined into a single volume in the Jewish Canon.
