What is the process in Refinishing Timber Floors?

There are a number of steps in refinishing Timber Floors in order to give it a smooth and polished look. The floor is first cleaned to get rid of dirt and debris. Sanding follows that removes the old finish and evens out the flaws. All the cracks or gaps are filled and repaired. Once sanded, the surface is washed once more to get dust off. To increase the color of the wood a stain can be used and then a protective coating such as polyurethane. Drying of individual coats has to take place before applying the next one. Refinishing timber floors is a task that is time consuming and requires accuracy in order to achieve a quality and durable outcome.
