Advice On A Windproof Tent For The Coast
I do a lot of camping along the windy cliffs of the Pacific Northwest, and I’ve seen many pole-based tents literally flatten when the gusts hit 30mph. After a lot of research on forums, I decided to try an inflatable tent because the air beams are flexible.
I ordered mine from RBM Outdoors and took it out last weekend. We had a massive storm, and while my friends were out fixing their broken poles, my tent just flexed and popped right back into place. It’s incredibly stable. The weight of the canvas also helps keep it planted. If you frequent windy spots or coastal areas, I highly recommend switching to this technology.
It’s a bit more expensive than a budget store tent, but the peace of mind during a storm is absolutely priceless for a good night's sleep.
