Can you actually grow a Butterfly Bush in a large container on a balcony?

I am so much in love with the smell of these flowers and I reside in a condo with one big terrace. I really want to plant a Butterfly Bush in a big pot. Is it mad, or shall it live, should there be depth enough in the container? I was surveying the heavy-duty planters and gardening equipment on abodelook in order to get going. Whether anyone has managed to do container gardening with any of these, would you mind telling me what sort of soil mixture you used?
