Looking for a hardy housewarming gift is a Butterfly Bush a safe bet?

My best friend has recently bought her first house and she has zero knowledge on plants. I would like to give her something that will not perish within a week. I saw that abodelook has a "Green Collection" with some really healthy-looking Butterfly Bush starts. Do they not seem easy to the green thumb who is not so green yet?
