BTFS Open Nodes
In line with its decentralized principles, BTFS remains fully open-source, striving to create an open, transparent, and participatory distributed storage network. Individual developers, tech enthusiasts, and institutional operators can freely download BTFS software, deploy, and run Open Nodes to contribute to network construction and and maintenance.
Compared to SPs, Open Nodes do not require an application or prerequisite conditions, and their hardware requirements are relatively lower. However, running an Open Node currently does not qualify for BTFS airdrop incentives.
Open Node Recommended Hardware Requirements

| Network | A stable public IP address, with upload bandwidth ≥10 Mbps and download bandwidth ≥10 Mbps. |
| OS | Linux (Ubuntu 18.04 or above is recommended). |
